Lucie Dubé is a social worker and a member of the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux et thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec . She is from the Opitciwan community and is especially interested in problems experienced by Aboriginal families, including child neglect. She is also doing her master's degree in social work at the Université du Québec en Outaouais and she got a scholarship from the Canada Research Chair in Aboriginal Governance of Territory of Professor Thibault Martin. As a recipient of this award, she was closely involved in research projects led by Professor Christiane Guay, including those on educational practices and customary adoption of Innu. Mrs. Dubé has also worked as a human relation agent and a clinical advisor in the social services team of Manawan and the Atikamekw Authority Intervention System of La Tuque. Mrs. Dubé wishes to contribute to the development and advancement of her nation in the prevention, intervention and social research on social problems of indigenous peoples.
