Maude Levasseur-Poirier

Maude Levasseur-Poirier

 

Maude Levasseur Poirier has the graduate degree in social work. She has ten years of experience in community work and she is actively involved in various issues related to poverty and exclusion. Early in her undergraduate studies, she became quickly interested in the research questions conducted by Professor Christiane Guay about the realities of Aboriginal families subject to youth protection system, including the particularity of Aboriginal family concerning education, protection and customary adoption. Her interest and her implications have earned her recognition from the FQRSC as she was awarded the scholarship of initiation to research of undergraduate students (2014).

In fall 2015, she started her graduate studies in social work at the Université du Québec en Outaouais and she will be working  on the narratives experiences of Innu families of Uashat mak Mani-Utenam under the Act 125.
