Pierre Noreau

 

Pierre Noreau is a Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montreal and a researcher of the Centre de recherche en droit public, where he was Director from 2003 to 2006. He is a political scientist and a lawyer and he works especially in the field of sociology of law. Pierre Noreau was President of the Association francophone pour le savoir (ACFAS) from 2008 to 2012, Director of the Office for the Americas of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) from 2009 to 2013, Vice-Rector of Programming, and development of the AUF from 2011 to 2014. His research focuses on the operation and development of the judicial system, the non-litigation settlement of disputes, access to justice, ethonocultural diversity and Aboriginal governance. His recent publications explore issues surrounding judicial conduct, community justice and conditions of interdisciplinary research in law. Pierre Noreau holds a doctorate from the Institute of Political Studies of Paris.
