Charlotte Chicoine-Wilson
Charlotte Chicoine-Wilson is a graduate in Law and International Development from the University of Ottawa, where she started a Master in Law (LL. M., thesis option) under the supervision of professor Ghislain Otis in 2013. In her thesis project, she will analyze the implementation of the indigenous legal orders recognition by the Colombian Constitution, in particular in the context of internormative conflicts (perceived or real) between those legal orders and fundamental rights.
She joined the Canada Research Chair on Legal Diversity and Indigenous Peoples in 2012 as a research assistant and participated in the elaboration of the partnership project “The State and Indigenous Legal Cultures : Law in Search of Legitimacy”. She continues to be involved in the project, researching questions on customary adoption and comparative law for our partners Makivik Society and the Sénat coutumier kanak.
